BUENOS AIRES, JUNE 2024. – The founder and president of Assekuransa, Juan Angel González Insaurralde, joined the new Board of Directors of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in the Argentine Republic (CECRA), elected for the 2024-2025 period.
The new board is chaired by Guillermo Ambroggi, who was re-elected for the position, and it includes representatives from Telefónica Argentina, Santander, and Naturgy in the three vice presidencies, as well as companies like Codorniú, Codere, Mapfre, Air Europa, BBVA, and Indra in other roles.
Assekuransa joined the institution just over two years ago and is a particular case, as it is not a Spanish company investing in Argentina, but an Argentine company with investments in Spain.
In fact, the insurance group had a brokerage in Madrid for over a decade, but last year decided to expand its presence in Spain and make it its gateway to the European market. In line with this, last December, it obtained approval from the General Directorate of Insurance in Spain for Assek Europe Compañía de Seguros y Reaseguros S.A., which began operations last April.
Assekuransa specializes in insurance for international trade and has a wide portfolio of products that cover the risks related to the transport of goods globally. It is headquartered in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and has operations in the United States, Mexico, Spain, and a strategic partner in Germany.
It was founded in 1990 and has since expanded, grown, and continuously incorporated new products. Currently, it has over 1,200 active clients in 30 countries, served by a team of 100 professionals located in its various locations.
